Note: I wrote this post a year ago and things have gotten a lot worse for Tommy Robinson ever since. He has spent the last 5 months in jail after being charged with contempt of court. Recently it was reported that he has been moved into solitary confinement and is not doing well. Free Tommy!
I’ve been following Tommy Robinson, the British activist, on Telegram for a couple years now at least. (I tend to lose track of time on the Internet!) If you measure a reporter by the number of world-wide scoops he delivers, then for my money, Tommy is the best reporter in the world not already in jail!
That’s probably why The Powers That Be are out to silence him. He is in constant legal trouble in Britain, mainly for reporting things that TPTB would rather not see reported, such as “Asian” grooming gangs raping young English girls, or discrimination by the police against native English people in favor of Muslim and other migrants.
His beat is not just limited to Britain though. If you want to know what is really happening almost anywhere in the world, Tommy has the story and most likely pertinent video. I honestly don’t know how he does it, but he often breaks stories about things that happen here in America before anybody else.
Of course, in a lot of cases, the kind of news Tommy reports somehow never seems to make it into our “news”papers or onto our TV or Mainstream Internet “news” reports. But apparently that isn’t good enough, because on March 20 they blocked access to Tommy’s channel on the mobile Telegram app on both Apple and Google phone platforms.
This all started about a year ago, when Apple decided to block the ability to read any comments on Tommy’s posts on Telegram. That was bad enough, but after protesting loudly, I learned to live with it. Big mistake! Give them an inch and they take a mile!
I don’t know about you, but if you ask me, I think these phone companies have a lot of nerve. I’m just old school enough to think that what content I choose to read on my phone is my business –and none of theirs! And the fact that Apple and Google acted together to censor Tommy on the same day reeks of collusion.
Of course, after what has been revealed by Twittergate and through the discovery process of Missouri vs Biden, it would not be paranoid to wonder if the federal government has something to do with this, and if so, I would be willing to bet good money that the British government has been egging them on.
Tommy is getting close to approaching the status of WikiLeak’s founder Julian Assange and Russian exile Edward Snowden and for similar reasons. He is guilty of exposing the truth about the corrupt Deep State.
This type of gathering totalitarianism is of grave concern. You may not like everything that Tommy, or any other reporter says or does, but the answer to bad speech is good speech. I think Elon Musk really nailed it the other day in his interview with Don Lemon. (See video below.)
And speaking of Elon, I think it’s long past time that he started producing his Free Speech mobile phone so we can all get out from under the tyranny of BM (Big Mobile or perhaps it stands for something else!) I would switch in a New York minute, even though I am a long-time Apple user since 1989 in computers and an early adopter of the iPhone in 2007. But enough is enough, I’ve had it!
Thankfully, there is a work-around that allows me to read (for now at least) Tommy’s Telegram posts (and the comments) on my MacBook. (Take that Apple!) You simply have to download the free Desktop app from Telegram. It is not as convenient as having it on my phone, but it will do until Apple gets some real competition.
Speaking of which, Apple was sued today by the Justice Department and a bi-partisan group of the Attorney Generals of 16 states for having and misusing a monopoly in the cellphone market. Couldn’t happen to nicer people, although I don’t have much faith in this Justice Department to address the real problem. Maybe the next administration can make this part of draining the Swamp!
And now, here’s Elon!
